Silent Generosity is a four piece alternative hard rock group based out of Long Island, New York.
The band was formed in 1998 with singer guitarist Ryan Parise and drummer Jason Buswell. In the beginning, Silent Generosity predominantly played a mixture of alternative and punk tunes. Over the years the band has achieved a progressively harder sound as their music has begun to reflect their hard rock and metal influences. The additions of Charles Shada on Bass in 2003, and Cory Skiseng on Guitar in 2008 round out the current Lineup of the band.
The band recorded their first demo in 2006 which contained the tracks ‘On My Way’, ‘Disenchanted’ and ‘Break Me Down’; a CD which became popular and well known among Long Island venues. Silent Generosity continued to enjoy an increasing local following as well as playing larger and larger venues; even being given the opportunity to open for Collective Soul.
In late 2006, Silent Generosity went into the studio to record a full length album to fulfill fan demand for more recorded material. The album featured the three songs from the ‘On My Way’ demo and was titled ‘Disenchanted’. In the Summer of 2006, they were asked to open for ‘Collective Soul’ in the Hampton’s after their victory at a battle of the bands competition.
The band continues to be a mainstay at many of Long Island’s concert venues including Mulchay’s, Crazy Donkey, The Downtown, Sundance and many others. In addition they have played at several NYC venues with good reviews.
In 2008 Silent Generosity continues to grow as musicians. With great determination and more fire than ever, they began work on new material. Fans of the band were caught off guard by the new, more mature sound and demanded more. In late 2008, Silent Generosity released their second demo in limited release: the ‘Girl Was Gone’ EP. Featuring the songs ‘Girl Was Gone’, ‘Hit and Run’, ‘She Said’, and ‘Tragic End’. Since that release they have composed several additional tracks that have been well received by their fans at live performances.
